The World Congress of Oblates ended tonight with Abbott Primate Notker Wolf O.S.B. telling us to remember him as the "Small man with a big heart for oblates" at St. Anselm Abbey in Rome.

Father Luigi Bertocchi
Father Luigi was born in Venice, Italy, and was ordained a priest in 1970. Later he joined the Saint John's monastic community, taking vows in 1990. He has a continuing interest in exploring relationships between Eastern meditation practices and Roman Catholic beliefs. Currently Father Luigi serves as Assistant Sacristan after several years as Guestmaster at St. Anselmo's Benedictine monastery in Rome. In 2005 Father Luigi conceived and organized the first World Congress of Benedictine Oblates that took place in Rome. Father Luigi returned to Collegeville in spring 2008.
